To help celebrate Valentine’s Day, Silverstone members are invited to grab their partners and compete in this fun, 2 person modified alternate shot event. Teams will receive 50% of their combined total handicap. Each player will tee off on every hole and teams will then decide which ball to play from there. Teams must use a minimum of 6 tee shots from each partner. The entry fee will be $20 per team. The game will be paid out to the low net teams in Golf Shop credit.

MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP

Monday, February 24th

Entry Fee:
The entry fee to play is $25 per player and includes prize payouts in Golf Shop credit and awards for the champion. Payouts will be based on total number of players. The deadline to enter is Sunday, February 16th at 5:00 p.m.

Qualification:
All Silverstone 200 Members, men and women, in good standing are eligible to participate.

Format:
Players will play a match play format throughout the tournament. USGA match play rules will apply for all matches. Players will be seeded based on the 6 month low index as of February 16th. Course handicaps for each match will be calculated based on each player’s 6 month low index in effect on the date the match is played. All matches will be played as net matches with the lowest handicap reduced to scratch and the opponent’s handicap adjusted accordingly.

Matches:
Players will be responsible for booking their matches with their opponents through the Golf Shop. Players will be given 2 weeks to complete each match. Each player will be given a 1 week extension for the entire tournament if needed. If a player is unable to play a match they may concede the match to their opponent. If players do not play their match by the deadline, the Golf Shop will flip a coin to determine a winner. The number of matches will be determined by the total number of participants. The first round of matches will begin on Monday, February 24th. The official calendar of deadlines will be available once the field has been determined. A match board will be updated by the Golf Shop throughout the tournament in the member locker room.

Tees:
All male players will play from the Blue tees. Male players whose age plus 6 month low handicap index equal 65 may choose to play from the White tees. All female players will play from the Green tees.

MEMBER GUEST

Friday, April 25th – Sunday, April 27th

Entry Fee:
The entry fee will be $600 per team. All participants will receive custom tee prizes, food and drinks for selected events, prizes and awards dinner. Due to the nature of this event, all guests traveling into Las Vegas are encouraged to be available all day Friday – Sunday.

Format:
The entire field will be divided into flights of six, two-man teams per flight. Each team plays five, 9-hole matches against each opponent within their respective flight to determine a flight winner. Each match represents nine possible points: One point for winning a hole and One-half point for halving the hole.

The format for each match is net best ball of the two-man team. Each player will be allowed 80% of his handicap. A maximum handicap stroke differential of 10 will be allowed between team members. If the handicap differential between partners is greater than 10 after the 80% is taken, the higher handicap will be reduced. Assignments to flights will be made on the basis of total combined handicaps as adjusted and similar stroke differentials. Match Play rules apply throughout the tournament.

Players will receive strokes based on the low handicap player in the foursome. In the event of any ties within a flight, the winner will be determined by how the tying teams performed against each other. The second tie breaker is the accumulated points received in head to head matches of all teams tied. The third tie breaker is the most points versus highest finishing team in the flight not in the tie. The fourth tie breaker is a chip off. The top team in each flight will qualify for the shootout on Sunday.

Shoot Out:
The flight winners will meet in a head to head competition to determine the Member-Guest Champion. Teams will be eliminated on each hole. The two teams left standing will battle on the 9th hole to determine the new champions of the shoot-out.

Shoot Out Format:
The shootout is “Scotch” Alternate shot. Strokes will be figured by reducing the combined handicap of the team by 50%. The low team shall then play from scratch. STROKE play rules apply. Ties will be broken by a chip off, except for the final hole, which will be determined by sudden death until we have a champion. Galleries are encouraged, keep your carts to “follow the leaders.”

More information and formal invitation will be sent to all members and guests.
